Our Last Meeting:

In the last meeting(5/14/26), we discussed the new hantavirus outbreak and scare. We also talked about the shooting that occured at the White House Correspondent's Dinner. This was our last meeting this year. Join us next year to keep up to date with more current events, political debates, and especially the midterm elections! See you then!

What We Do

Political Club is a place where students interested in U.S. and Global politics can socialize, discuss, and have civil debates about these topics and current events happening around the world. We work to expand student knowlegde of politics and these events to help create a more informed student body. In doing so, we also want all members to not just angrily argue their beliefs, but understand other students' beliefs respectfully. Understanding multiple perspectives is very important in diplomacy and in not just the political world, but in the real world as a whole. Speaking of which, we also encourage students to get involved in the real world with local politics. Whether it be city, county, or even state or national, every student should walk away from our meetings with an aspiration to make their voice heard. Because now more than ever, our voices really do need to be heard.

Why You Should Join

You should join political club if you are interested in politics or global current events, if you are wanting to learn more about politics, if you want to get involved in politics, if you want to stay up to date with a political climate and current events, or if you just wanna have a good time! We also host civil debates on real political issues, where we aim to understand each other, not prove the other person wrong. We also have guest speakers come in every now and then, and they offer great advise for anyone willing to listen.

What are Current Events?

Current events can be defined as ongoing political, social, or economic developments in the world, along with current global affairs and recent news. For example, an outbreak of a global virus, an election of a new president, or a developing trade deal are all examples of current events.
